ARA Foundation Auction & Wounded Warrior Project Partnership

Hitachi Global Air Power had donated a one-of-a-kind Sullair 185 Tier 4 Final Air Compressor to the 2025 ARA Foundation Auction.

All the proceeds from the Auction will go to the ARA Foundation in support of their mission of providing employee training assistance grants, mentoring programs, scholarships and sponsored training to the event and rental industry.

In addition, Hitachi Global Air Power will make a separate $10,000 charitable donation to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. Since 2003, Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) has been meeting the growing needs of warriors, their families, and caregivers — helping them achieve their highest ambition.

Celebrating 60 Years

  • 1960s: The Beginning
    • In 1966, the first product to roll off the assembly line was a 150 cfm portable compressor powered by a 65 hp Ford GPFO gasoline engine.
  • 1970s: More Products & European Expansion
    • The 1970s saw an expansion of the Sullair portable line into bigger models providing more flow – more pressure.
    • The first “Quiet” model was introduced in 1977.
    • Sullair Europe, originally based in Germany, introduced portable products to the European market.
  • 1980s: Era of Big & Quiet
    • Expansion of the Quiet product line
    • A 3200Q—the largest Sullair portable compressor model ever made—was shown at Con Expo in 1981.
  • 1990s: The Workhorse Era
    • A special edition 185 celebrating 25 years of Sullair was introduced in 1990—including the famous Sullair logo on its wheel hubs.
  • 2000s: Adapting to a Changing Market
    • Sullair Certified REMAN—a factory authorized remanufacturing program—launched in 2013 and is still running strong today. This program has brought new life to thousands of older Sullair compressors.
    • In 2017, a new look and promise were introduced with the Sullair Power Stripe. Sullair products have a reputation for Reliability and Durability. The new products displaying the Sullair Power Stripe have the added promise of enhanced Performance.
  • Today: The Green Era
    • Our products have always been green and they keep getting greener with the expansion of the Sullair Electric Portable line.
